46% of readers own a Canon, underlining the brands popularity while surprisingly, Sony owned by 24% squeaks past Nikon at 23%. No distinction is made between DLSRs, compact cameras or other categories this is a brand race.

While Nikon is preferred over Sigma, both brands are neck and neck at 15% in ownership. Still however, both trail behind Canon lenses of which 27% of you own.

    Why the lack of love for Pentax DSLR’s? Pentax makes fully weathersealed DSLR’s (eg the K-5) that are generally tougher and better sealed than the ‘big name’ brands at the same price point. I live in the Kenyan desert and my K10D has survived for 4 years through some of the toughest conditions anywhere.
